Purpose

The purpose of the Medical Leave Policy is to help employees understand their rights and responsibilities, as well as the documentation needed to support medical leaves. It is intended to provide clear and consistent information for the administration of medical leaves, as well as supporting forms and guidance, so the obligations of the County/Agency as an employer are satisfied.

The Medical Leave Policy was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on December 7, 2010 with an effective date of December 14, 2010.

Training Opportunities

If you are responsible for administering this policy in your department/agency, we encourage you to attend one of the available trainings. Managers, supervisors, human resource liaison and payroll representatives are especially encouraged to attend.

General trainings are available in SCORS for registration.
