Workers’ Compensation

The County of Sonoma’s Workers’ Compensation program is administered by Northern Claims Management, LLC. See contact information below. This program compensates employees for disability leave and medical treatment as a result of a workplace injury. Workers’ Compensation benefit regulations are set by the State of California’s Division of Workers’ Compensation.

An employee should report an injury immediately to his/her supervisor. The supervisor will complete the County of Sonoma’s Supervisor Report of Occupational Injury/Illness/Exposure (PDF) and Accident/Incident Investigation Report of Occupational Injury or Illness. Work related injuries may be specific in nature such as a slip and/or fall, or an injury may be as a result of repetitive physical activities.

Upon reporting an injury, a claim is initiated. An employee should expect a telephone call from the County’s claim administration agency to discuss the injury.

The Disability Management Unit within the County’s Human Resources Department is always available to answer your Workers’ Compensation questions. The main HR number is (707) 565-2331. Ask to speak with your Disability Management Analyst.
